Graduation weekend safety concerns for students in School District 73.
Assistant Superintendent for Secondary schools, Bill Hamblett says during the graduation weekend, they want to be sure students are making good decisions and being safe, particularly when going to student led parties.
“Obviously, these kind of situations can sometimes be attended by other young adults that have nothing to do with the grad class or anything like that. And our concern is drinking and driving, alcohol consumption, the possible use of drugs in these unsupervised events, that’s a concern for the health and safety of our students.”
Hamblett adds, he wants to stress the importance of not driving impaired.
