Elections B.C has opened up applications for groups to apply to be the official ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ sides in the proportional representation campaign but not everyone is happy with what they see.
With the official campaign set to begin July 1st, Elections B.C spokesperson, Andrew Watson says, applications for a proponent and opponent will close six days later.
As for making a decision on who will be Yes and No,
“It will certainly be a priority for us. There is not a date set yet but I would expect mid-July we would be in a position to make an announcement.”
Bill Tieleman, whose group wants to represent No, is crying foul.
“We have got a campaign without either side being officially recognized and yet the campaign is on for 6 to 15 days or more? That is just ridiculous.”
People can vote via a mail in ballot from October 22nd to November 30th.
