Kamloops residents can now put an image to the ideas given for development in the city’s downtown core
Community Planning and Sustainability Manager, Jason Locke says after wrapping up the Downtown Design Week, they’re sharing some draft images with the public.
“So now these images are online, so for the next 3 weeks we’re asking people who couldn’t attend that open house, do you like these ideas and why, do you have concerns about these ideas, these draft concept ideas and why.”
He says some of the main asks include,
“More public gathering spaces, so pedestrian plazas that are closed off to cars. We don’t want to close Victoria Street off altogether because you still need some activity, you still need cars in order to make the businesses vibrant.”
Locke adds, there will be a summary of all the feedback, to be presented in a report by the end of the summer.
