Kamloops home sales a little off compared to last year, but still well above the 10 year average
President of the Kamloops & District Real Estate Association, Doren Quinton says, they were off by about 11 per cent for sales in June, and year to date, they’re only running about 7 per cent off.
“Last month, Sahali had the most sales, there were 34 sales in Sahali, that was followed by 24 in Aberdeen, and 23 in Brocklehurst.”
Quinton says they’re seeing a trend towards higher priced homes.
“Highest number of sales last month was in the 400-500 thousand dollar range, which is pretty much the average price of a home in Kamloops. That was followed by the 300-400 dollar range. We actually saw this month, starting splitting prices above 600 thousand dollars, we had 43 sales above 600 thousand, which was very active.”
Quinton adds, the market is still challenged by low inventory numbers, but overall, the numbers were still solid.
