Tourism Kamloops is reporting a promising increase in numbers so far this year.
“We are off to an amazing start for 2018.”
The Director of Industry Relations for Tourism Kamloops, Monica Dickinson, says the latest accommodation numbers continue a strong trend.
“We just received our May year to date numbers and it is good news. The accommodation revenues are up 12% year to date so that’s the first five months of 2018. Also too our visitation is up so 9.5%. So both really really great numbers.”
Dickinson also reports American visitors to the Tournament Capital soared 13% in May compared to the same month last year.
She says the numbers are good to see especially considering a promising tourism season that was derailed by last year’s historic wildfire season.
