The mayor of Kamloops isn’t happy with a decision by the NDP government to put off ride sharing until the fall of 2019.
Ken Christian says its happening all around us and the government in his words missed the boat.
“Its just unofficial now and its happening and I think they have to face up with the reality that the rest of north America has done. Lets get ahead of this and try to put some regulation around it, because quite frankly people are accepting, offering, and paying, for rides everyday right here in Kamloops.”
Despite an election promise to allow companies like Uber and Lyft by the end of last year, Transportation Minister Claire Trevena now says the government expects to accept applications from those companies by September of next year.
