Friday marked the official opening of a renovated and upgraded float plane dock in Kamloops.
Mayor Ken Christian says the facility is important to the local and regional economy.
“This ensures that we are able to provide the float plane services to operators both locally in the Thompson-Nicola Region but also those that will use this as a port of entry to Canada.”
The Managing Director of the Kamloops Airport is Heather McCarley.
“The facility is already in use and it offers safer and better access to the airport for float planes which will encourage operators to make Kamloops a destination of choice along their route.”
The dock is located on the South side of the Kamloops Airport on the North bank of the Thompson River.
