Vancouver Canucks 1st round NHL pick Quinn Hughes appeared at ease on the ice last night in a 5-2 win over Finland at the Sandman Centre. At times he was skating circles around his opponents.
“That’s what you want to do right? You want to have the most success possible… I know Finland maybe didn’t bring their best players as some teams tend to do at these events. I know Canada will be a tough test, those games are circled on my schedule.”
The younger brother Jack could be the 1st pick in next year’s NHL Entry Draft. He made some skilled plays during the game and showed why there’s some hype around him.
“I’m a confident player, I trust myself,” said the younger Hughes to Radio NL’s Jon Keen.
You can see the Hughes brothers in action tonight at 7:30pm against Team Canada Red in the third and final game of the day.
Sweden plays Finland in the first game at 1pm, followed by Team Canada White vs USA Blue at 4pm.
