The B.C government has given the go ahead to increased operating times for red-light cameras in the province, including Kamloops.
The camera in Tournament Capital will be located at one of the busiest intersection in the city at Fortune and 8th.
Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says it won’t be operational only six hours a day.
“We have now made them operational 24 hours a day in the hopes to bring down the number of accidents and fatalities and make roads and in particular intersections safer.”
ICBC reports all five of the Interior’s most dangerous intersections are in Kelowna.
