Interior Health Communicable Disease Specialist Jennifer Jeyes says to date, there have no human cases reported, no positive mosquito pools identified, and no positives identified by Canadian Blood Services through their screening program.
“Its summer time and regardless of the smoke you know people want to go out and enjoy their time so we just want to remind people to take precautions.”
Surveillance includes screening the blood supply and reporting human and animal cases.
