The Mayor of Kamloops could eventually see a downtown TRU campus.
Ken Christian’s comments came after the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Thompson Rivers University.
“Many universities use a downtown presence to provide both the experience for their students as well as services to the community. In our case, we are uniquely collocated so its not as much of an issue here. But certainly with the numbers of students that TRU is attracting. The potential for them to have satellite education spaces around the city makes sense.”
As part of the MOU, both the city and TRU will work jointly on a number of projects.
