The organizers of the now second annual downtown Kamloops Pride Parade are assessing another successful event.
Kirstin McLaughlin says they were thrilled with the turn out despite the rain, which she says was a actually a blessing by driving down the wildfire smoke.
Speaking of the smoke have organizers put any thought into changing the date next year to avoid the wildfire smoke…
“One of the things we’re really conscious of is when the other Prides in the province are happening. So, being sort of late to the game, you know, Vancouver Pride, Okanagan Pride had celebrations earlier in the month.
And so I think its something that we definitely need to consider for next year, btu we’ll take a look at the B.C Pride calendar and keep our fingers crossed that the last two years are unusual for smoke.”
McLaughlin says there was a lot to like about this year’s event with the number of community booths, food trucks, and fun activities.
