There are no plans to add another air monitoring station in Kamloops following another year of smoky sky.
Air Quality Specialist Ralph Adams who works for the B.C Environment Ministry says one station has become the norm elsewhere around the province.
“Currently the ministry doesn’t have any plans to install an additional air quality health index station. You know that is the standard for large communities in B.C as we have one air quality health index reading station.”
Adams says short term studies will be done to investigate the variations and the sources of pollution within the Kamloops watershed.
