Art Knapp’s in Kamloops wants to get into the pot growing business.
Owner Maury Hick says an application has been made to the federal government to grow cannabis seedlings.
Hick says instead of coming into the store on the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc reserve to buy petunias, you buy, for example, a six pack of cannabis seeds and grow it yourself.
“There are going to be a lot of people honestly that have never grown it right. We will have to go and teach them and they will want it as simple as: Give me one type of fertilizer. Give me one light. Give me what I need to be successful with this and have it basically drawn out how to do it.”
Hick says the company must seek permission from the band council before proceeding.
