Kamloops has taken the last step to finally determine if there is enough parking in the downtown core.
The city issuing a request proposals for a Transportation Demand Study.
Transportation Engineer Elnaz Ansari says, the chosen consultant will be responsible for developing short, medium, and long term strategies for the downtown, Sagebrush and West End Neighbourhoods.’
“Its going to be identifying strategies to encourage to use more alternative modes of transportation to travel to and within the downtown. Its also going to evaluate the parking utilization in the downtown and identify whether or not we need more parking.”
Ansari says the first phase of the project will consist of a detailed parking utilization review and determining if there is a need for additional parking downtown.
