The ASK Wellness Centre in Kamloops warns people not to read too much into the latest overdose death numbers.
In August there were no overdose fatalities in the city.
Executive Director of Bob Hughes says hes seen the numbers fluctuate over the last two years.
“I’ve been in this long enough you know and have been witnessing these numbers fluctuate over the last two years that this has been in place. Its one that we can have I think a small set of cheer, just for the fact that we can say at least there was one month in the last two years that nobody has died, but to be able to extrapolate that, to say that this is a trend we are going in is a little premature.”
There have been 25 deaths in Kamloops so far this year, compared to 38 in all of 2017.
