A Thompson Nicola Regional District director is worried about further flooding in the Cherry Creek area.
Ronaye Elliot says, the board voted to see if there is a government program to fund a study of whats needed to be done to avoid a repeat of the last two years.
Elliot says 16 homes were impacted.
“I think the creek needs to go back in its own bed. Fisheries and Oceans wont allow us to do. The people that have got six feet of silt now need to have some of that replaced and its a big money thing and there are only 16 houses down there and they are all in need of help. We need to be provided in how we go about it.”
The area suffered extensive flooding for the second year in a row.
