Kamloops Mayor Ken Christian is not second guessing the decision by council to build the Peterson Creek Multi-Use Path to get people downtown quicker and safer after construction delays.
“This is going be shorter faster and its going to have most of the grade taken out of it.”
Christian says he’s heard right from the beginning the 3.7 million dollar path is a waste of money.
“The beauty of this one is it connects the TRU precinct and downtown and that’s a high traffic area. That’s an area that we see a lot of people certainly riding bicycles down Columbia Street.”
The path is 1.7 kilometres, nine feet wide, and links Sahali behind Sahali Secondary with the downtown core at Glenfair Drive.
The project will officially open October 26th, after several construction delays.
