A big step forward for the $12 million dollar reconstruction of West Victoria in Kamloops from First Avenue to the Overlanders Bridge.
Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell says 80 per cent of the design work has now been complete, and a tender package goes out before the end of the month.
“This is definitely a quality and experienced based proposal, again not just low price,” he said.
“We are looking for a team. We are looking for the expertise. We are looking for somebody to really work with us and not just a low price.”
Crundwell hopes to have a contractor chosen by the end of November with a deal to be finalized in the new year.
Construction should start in the spring of 2019 and be finished by the fall of 2020.
