The Canada West Ski Areas Association is hoping to enjoy another record year, but says resort operators have a major problem to deal with.
President Christopher Nicholson says they’re struggling to get enough workers.
“The number one challenge for most ski areas in the west continues to be hiring enough people for the ski areas,” he said. “It’s seasonality that is a challenge.”
“There have been some wins in the area, but it continues to be the number one.”
On another topic, Nicholson says there are more than six new chairlifts being built at Western Canadian resorts.
