A first time Kamloops Councillor elect says he has a clear list of priorities after winning a seat in Saturday’s vote.
Mike O’Reilly says the two issues topping his to do list are jobs and affordability.
“A lot of it starts with keeping Kamloops affordable for the people that live here now. To do that we to have good strong paying jobs in our community,” he said.
“We need to put Kamloops on the map as a place for business to invest and [for] investors, if they are deciding somewhere in British Columbia, they should pick Kamloops. We need to roll out that red carpet for investment into our city.”
O’Reilly says with four new people on council they have a clean slate and can set their own economic agenda.
“We’re going to decide what we think is best, and work together as a cohesive team four the next four years,” he added.
O’Reilly finish third among council candidates with 9,375 votes.
