UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.
Kamloops RCMP now confirm human remains have been found in the Lac Du Bois Grasslands area.
The BC Coroners Service had told NL News that a body was found there, but police didn’t confirm until this afternoon.
“We’ve been searching in Lac Du Bois since October 3rd, and human remains have been found in this time frame. At this time, we haven’t identified the human remains,” Corporal Jodi Shelkie says.
Authorities began searching the area when 35-year-old Troy Gold was reported missing.
A week after that, police said they suspected Gold had been killed.
Shelkie couldn’t confirm if the remains were those of Gold’s, as they continue to investigate.
Police did say they have suspects in the case, all of whom are known to police. Officers had carried out search warrants on two homes, one apartment and several cars.
