Kamloops City Council is back at the budget table looking at increasing some utility rates.
Finance Director Kathy Humphrey says council will hear details on spending from various departments today.
She says the proposed 3.4 per cent increase in property increase will not change today.
Also, water and recycling rates won’t rise however sewer levies are expected to jump 15 per cent or 54 dollars on average.
“The 15 per cent is exactly the same number we talked about last year mostly to build up the reserve,” she said. “We have what I believe are the big projects which are replacing some of the sewer lines.”
Budget discussions will continue in the New Year when the final increase will be adopted.
On December 4, a report will be presented to council for them to formalize the utility rate changes.
