Kamloops City Council will be looking at service levels during this budget cycle.
During a budget meeting today, Mayor Ken Christian told fellow politicians he will be introducing a new committee structure.
“One will be led with Councillor [Dieter] Dudy on that whole issue of service levels, and they will dig deep into that and bring it back to us for ratification,” said Christian.
“The other one under the leadership of Councillor [Denis] Walsh, and it will be in that finance area to look at the service agreements that the city has and go through all of those and bring that back.”
Chief Administrative Officer David Trawin says the senior staff is looking for efficiencies.
“They’re looking in their budgets to put together a list of things they feel could be cut, and what the impact of that could be.”
