The city of Kamloops is changing its bylaw service hours in 2019.
Community Safety and Enforcement Manager John Ramsey says the hours of work will change from 7 AM to 9 PM, to 8 AM to 8 PM.
It’s due to staffing levels and the need for a supervisor to be on the job as well for the full shift.
“The biggest thing that prompted the change was the supervision, so the issues they are going to deal with will still be the same,” Ramsay said.
“So the crew leaders being available to assist the officer in a situation that they are not too sure what they should be doing or they need approval to get done.”
The new hours take effect January 1st.
