A Kamloops woman is worried about what would happen to the people of Rayleigh should there ever be a disaster.
Speaking to council, Diane Czyzewski says there are over two thousand people living in the area with only two exists crossing CN rail tracks.
“If there happens to be a train, a long train a slow train you are blocked off from the world. It could be very very hazardous.”
Mayor Ken Christian told Czyzewski he’s aware of the issues.
“It’s not just about Rayleigh, it’s also about Dallas and Valleyview on the CP extent, and council have expressed similar concerns that you have displayed with respect to both the length and speed of trains.”
Christian says access for residents for emergency services has been on council’s radar for a long time.
