There will be extended BC Transit bus service in Kamloops on New Years Eve, with the last service running after midnight that day.

BC Transit Spokesperson Jonathon Dyck says the timing will depend on the bus route.

“Make sure that you’re planning ahead,” he said. “One of the things that we’re planning to do in partnership with the city of Kamloops is to make sure that people have a safe ride home on New Year’s Eve.”

“We know that people will be out celebrating with friends and family and it’s important that they plan ahead and look at the schedule to be able to get home safely.”

There won’t be any bus service on Christmas Day, with Sunday schedules running on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Dyck adds people can use the NextRide system to find out exactly where their bus is over the holidays.
