A 28-year-old Kamloops man is in custody after he was spotted with a $4,000 necklace that was stolen from a local jewelry store earlier this year.
Police were doing a curfew check on the man on December 9.
When the man came to the door to confirm that he was home, an officer spotted the necklace which they believe was stolen from Fifth Avenue Jewellers on September 17.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says officers came back with a search warrant on December 10.
“The male was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime, and the $4,000 necklace was seized,” she said.
She adds Crown Counsel will determine what charges could be.
