One man is dead after a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision early this morning on the Trans-Canada Highway and Comazzetto Road in Valleyview.
Police say the man was trying to cross the highway when he was hit by a westbound vehicle.
Officers responded around 12:15 AM, police noting the man was apparently returning home from a “work-related holiday celebration” where alcohol was involved.
“This is yet another stark reminder to look after one another during this holiday season, to ensure that we all have safe travel plans home”, said Staff Sgt. Mat. Van Laer.
No other details are available, and no names have been released.
The highway was closed for a while, but it’s since been reopened.
