For the second time in a week a crash involving a transport truck has resulted in diesel fuel spilling into the North Thompson.
The Interior Health Authority issued the water advisory for an area from the crash site 15 kilometres north of Avola to the intersection of the Yellowhead highway and the Martin Creek Forest Service Road just north of Vavenby.
People should check their water to ensure it is not contaminated.
If the water has a sheen or gas like odour it should NOT be used for drinking, showering, bathing, or brushing teeth.
Interior Health says the Vavenby water system is not impacted.
On Friday the health authority rescinded a do not use water order for Vavenby residents after another crash on Sunday December 30th resulted in a large diesel spill into the North Thompson.
