A major retrofit of city hall in Logan Lake is nearing completion.
Chief administrative officer Randy Lambright says the $1.4-million-dollar project should be done by the end of March.
Lambright says the project has been delayed a little bit since it began last summer.
“Our original timeline was December 30th of 2018. But because of construction delays, in terms of lack of resources from the contractor as well as a lack of supplies and materials. It’s been very busy, it’s extremely busy in the province right now. That caused some unforeseen delays.”
The project will see the old firehall converted into the new home for the WHY (Wellness, Health and Youth) program, as well as a new council chambers, new entrances and a refurbished office space. The fire department moved from that facility last year into a new $3.2-million-dollar hall.
Of the $1.4 million-dollar price tag for the retrofit, $1.1 million has been provided by the Logan Lake Community Forest Corporation.
Lambright adds the delay in the project won’t have an impact on the overall cost of the work.
