It will be a full slate in the crucial provincial by-election in Nanaimo.
The by-election ballot will feature a total of six candidates.
The BC Conservatives are throwing interim deputy leader Justin Greenwood into the fray.
He was asked about vote splitting on the right with the BC Liberals.
“They think they are going to pretend they are conservative again then they are going to have a pretty hard battle. I am going to be there and I am going to put a stop to that. There will be a vote split out there. There will be a vote split between the four major parties and we are going to be one of them.”
Greenwood says he plans on going after both the NDP and the Liberals in the campaign.
“We plan to get our message out and hold the other parties to account. The Liberals have 16 years of things to be accountable for. The NDP have brought in quite a few taxes that are going to effect the people of Nanaimo and British Columbia. I am going to hold their feet to the fire over that.”
Rounding out the field Sheila Malcomson will be running for the NDP, Tony Harris for the Liberals, Michele Ney for the Greens, Robin Richardson for the Vancouver Island Party, and Bill Walker for the Libertarians.
Nanaimo votes on January 30th with the NDP and Greens holding a one seat advantage over the Liberals.
