RCMP say two people were arrested while protesting outside of the Coast Hotel in Kamloops yesterday.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says both men were in their mid-50s and were part of protest groups while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was inside the hotel.
“It’s my understanding that they were part of two separate groups and were not connected to one another. Both individuals were arrested and removed from the scene,” Moskaluk says.
“It was alleged that these individuals were blocking the entrance to the hotel and preventing people from accessing the hotel at the time.”
Moskaluk says police are pursuing charges against one individual and he says the other man was released without charge.
He couldn’t confirm if the two men arrested are from Kamloops nor what protesting groups each were part of.
Several hundred people gathered outside the Coast Hotel yesterday for separate demonstrations while Trudeau was holding a fundraising luncheon.
