The Conservative MP for the Kamloops Thompson is giving the Prime Minister mixed grades for his time spent in Kamloops.
Cathy McLeod gave the Prime Minister a thumbs up for engaging with people while in Kamloops.
“I will give kudos to the Prime Minister for having a townhall meeting, and I think that’s something that shows people across the country that the Prime Minister is accessible.”
However, McLeod says when it comes to the Trudeau’s government actually doing something that is where her praise stops.
She uses pipelines as an example be it Trans Mountain or Trans Canada.
“It’s going forward, and I think we have to be able to move projects forward. I mean we can’t completely paralyze our country in terms of everything that happens.”
She says with massive deficits and no way out until at least 2040 the country is in bad shape to weather any brewing financial storm.
“He talked about potentially a recession, he actually talked about that. But had no discomfort with the fact that they’ve spent the cupboards bare while they know a recession might be inevitable,” McLeod says.
“So I think kudos for doing that kind of outreach, but really bedside and manors and execution as the Prime Minister, in terms of all sorts of issues, is my bigger concern.”
