The NDP Government will table a new provincial budget next month and it is promising it will be in the black.
Finance minister Carole James says while the economic signs are for the most part positive there are some concerns out there among them the dumpster fire at ICBC.
James says she is keeping a close eye on the situation.
So will the provincial books be balanced when the budget hits the table in February?
“Yes the books are balanced. In fact in the quarterly report that came forward just a month or so ago we showed that in fact we will have a larger surplus than we expected or than we predicted. We continue to see the economic growth in British Columbia be very strong.”
James says B.C. leads the country with the lowest unemployment rate.
She says the numbers are also good as far GDP and growth.
