All eyes in provincial politics will be on Nanaimo tomorrow where a byelection could determine if the Horgan government can continue on or fall.
The seriousness of the Nanaimo byelection is not lost on Premier John Horgan who says the continuation of his government is in the best interest of Nanaimo voters.
“It’s very important, and we’ve been doing our level best to make our case to the people of Nanaimo that in the time that we’ve had as government, we’ve been delivering for the people in the community, said Horgan.
BC Liberals leader Andrew Wilkinson says his party is doing its best to convince voters to go Liberal after years of the NDP holding the riding.
“Well, byelections are always kind of a one-off thing,” he added. “The turnout is never as big as in a general election although the advance polls are showing good results in Nanaimo.”
With six candidates on the ballot, a win by the Liberals would put the opposition in a tie with the NDP-Green alliance with 43 seats each.
