A senior BC Hydro staff member says the company is looking to redevelop its district office in Kamloops.
Senior vice-president of capital infrastructure Al Leonard says the company is working with local staff right now to come up with a plan.
“We’re at the very initial phases. We’ve got a very significant-sized office here, but it is at capacity. And so it may be just a redevelopment at the existing site, but we haven’t decided yet,” Leonard says.
“It’s at capacity, and also the yard, in terms of storage and that, is at capacity as well… What we’re doing is working with the local staff to ensure that we have a good understanding of what their needs are and how we can make sure that we can support them in the future.”
Leonard says the current office in Kamloops on McGill Road has more than 200 employees.
