Residents in Lytton will be heading to the polls on March 2nd to fill a vacant councillor seat at the table.
The by-election comes just a few months after last October’s municipal elections.
Mayor Jan Polderman says former councillor Richard Swan resigned because of a new job.
“He came to the conclusion that he didn’t have enough time to do both his paying job and his basically volunteer job,” Polderman said.
That resignation, Polderman adds, caught them by surprise.
“It was only a month after the elections. We had just sworn him in and we hadn’t had a council meeting yet.”
Running to replace Swan is Dallas Ian Hay and Thom Ross.
