
The new Kamloops BC SPCA headquarters epitomizes what the organization is trying to do with its new strategic plan.
The plan is based around four pillars – protection, care, education, and research.
“This new facility really epitomizing what we’re trying to do at the organization with our new strategic plan,” said CEO Craig Daniell. “It epitomizes about building additional services in the community and really helping us to move to an essential part of the community itself.”
He adds in addition to regular services there will be more will be offered in Kamloops.
“The new facility includes a spay-neuter clinic and this new facility also includes a large multipurpose room and this will give us an opportunity to expand educational programming,” Daniell added. “It’ll also allow us to support compassionate boarding program which allows us to support animals of individuals who are fleeing domestic violence.”
The plan also has provisions for free services to vulnerable pet owners who face barriers in caring for their pets.
The new Kamloops headquarters are set to open in April.
Construction on the $6.5-million facility should be done next month, with the opening set for April.
