The Liberal Kamloops-North MLA says he’s concerned about dollars for BCLC in the provincial budget that aren’t going to the Tournament Capital.
Peter Milobar says there is money committed to capitals projects for BCLC despite the plan for a new headquarters in Kamloops being scrapped.
“The fact that they’ve pulled the BC Lotteries project off the books completely, yet still show about $300 million in capital being spent on BC Lotteries makes one scratch our head, and say ‘where are they spending $300 million in Lottery over the next three years if we have nothing to worry about?'” Milobar says.
“And this is on capital. If we have nothing to worry about in Kamloops, well what’s happening with BC Lotteries, and those 250 extra jobs that would come with a new building? So I think we have a lot of local questions and concerns.”
The new headquarters in Kamloops was projected to cost more than $100 million dollars which was part of the reason why it was cancelled.
