The search is still on for a new home for Kamloops Search and Rescue, as they’ve outgrown their current space on Mission Flats Road.
Spokesperson Jenn Stahn says they’re still hopeful they’ll find something this year, but so far, nothing.
“The dream would be having a piece of land large enough that we can house all of our vehicles on there if we’ve got a large training night, we can have everybody come in,” she said. “We’d love to see ourselves as a regional training centre.”
“That’s so we could have some bigger training scenarios happening here in Kamloops. Ultimately, we just want something that’s safe and secure for all of our equipment.”
She adds they want this new building to be in town, but with easy access to the highways.
“We realize that there are some logistical difficulties in that as well,” Stahn added.
