A change in the way Sun Peaks hosts concerts over the summer.

Instead of a series of free concerts, there will be one big name artist performing at the open-air stage at Sun Peaks Resort.

Tourism Sun Peaks spokesperson Rachel Roberts says they were just looking to do things a little different this time around.

“We’ll still have our live music throughout the village whether it be hosted by Morrissey’s on the open air stage or during our farmer’s markets on Sundays,” she said.

“And then our other events like the retro concert weekend, that will be returning in the summer as well and other events throughout the summer season.”

Serena Ryder will play a free concert in Sun Peaks on July 27, and Roberts says they’re expecting between 5,000 and 7,000 people to attend that weekend.
