The President of the Union of BC Municipalities has had a chance to discuss the needs of local government with the Premier.
Arjun Singh says for local governments housing is by far the biggest priority issue. But he adds there are other issues of note he took directly to John Horgan.
“We were focused on housing, cannabis revenue sharing, and climate action,” he said. “We just kind of talked about those things as much as we could. Really we are just kind of sharing this message universally around.”
“With climate action, for example, there is some discussion and debate as to whether we should be focusing in on mitigating or adaptation.”
Singh says extreme weather is a massive issue.
He adds he also discussed the need for broadband internet access for rural communities near Kamloops and across the province.
