The Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation Chief says there are plans in early stages to develop an RV Park on their land.
Rosanne Casimir says her council wants to see some sort of development of that type come to fruition.
“Those initial plans were definitely in regards to collaborate and coordinate with softball city, and to look at a potential RV Park. Those are still at the very early planning processes, because everything’s always about infrastructure,” Casimir says.
“I know that I have a very eager team of councillors who are very active and want to see things progress and move forward, so I’ll be excited as to what the future’s going to look like with that opportunity.”
Kamloops councillor Bill Sarai voiced concern earlier this year that there are only two RV Parks in the Kamloops area and he said the city is missing out on tourism dollars from RVers.
