The North District RCMP are investigating two homicides from yesterday, one in 100 Mile House and the other in Valemount.

In 100 Mile House, police say a man was shot in a house “well known to police” on Cedar Street.

Cpl. Madonna Saunderson with the North District RCMP says there’s isn’t a lot of other information right now.

“The North District Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation, and the police can confirm this is being investigated as a homicide,” she said.

No details about the victim were immediately available.

In Valemount yesterday, police found a 60-year-old man dead, and are also looking at the case as a homicide.

In both instances, police say there’s no information to suggest that the greater public is at risk.
