A crash this afternoon near Salmon Arm has killed one person.
Cpl. Mike Halskov with the BC RCMP Traffic Services says the crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. along Highway 97B near Hudson Road, about 10 kilometres south of Salmon Arm.
Halskov says the crash happened when a passenger vehicle and a semi collided head on, killing one occupant of the passenger vehicle.
He says the cause isn’t clear at this point. The identity of the two victims has not been provided.
The highway remains closed in both directions as crews remain at the scene. DriveBC says the road should re-open at 10 p.m.
Note: RCMP made an amendment in their release to media, saying one person was killed instead of two as originally stated. This story has been corrected.
