A suspect from a 2016 hit and run in Kamloops has been arrested today in Prince George.
The charges stem from an incident in August of 2016 when a female jogger with seriously injured after being hit on Athabasca Street.
The driver fled the scene and police found the vehicle later that day and determined it had been stolen.
“The suspect’s DNA was found inside of the vehicle but it did not match any of the samples within the National DNA Data Bank. Recently, the DNA was matched with a suspect who was from Kamloops but currently living in Prince George,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says.
Twenty-nine-year-old Joshua Joseph Pooli now faces charges failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, possession of stolen property, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
Pooli will be transported to Kamloops to face those charges.
