The Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake was locked down yesterday afternoon.

North District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the lock down was just after 2 p.m., after a report came in that a man in the hospital had a knife.

Police chased a man on foot and arrested a 26-year-old male.

“Through investigation it was discovered that the male did not have a knife as originally reported and that his behavior was medically related and not criminal in nature,” Saunderson says.

She also says no one was hurt during the incident and says the lock down was lifted shortly after.
