It’s been quite the month for the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and it’s space and storage needs.
There’s the closure at Sagebrush Theatre to begin with, that’s having the biggest impact.
To add to that, Executive Director Kathy Humphreys says they also have to move out of the now reopening Westsyde Elementary School.
“We were notified that we would have to move out so that they could renovate and get ready for fall for that school to reopen,” she said. “That news we were told end of February.”
“Shortly after that, I discovered that the Lansdowne Village former site of Barb’s Used Book and Music Sale for the last two or three sales, had been leased to someone, so that space wasn’t available for us.”
Humphreys notes it’s been a pretty hectic month trying to resolve all three of those issues.
“A lot of hauling things around in trucks,” she added. “We did find a space for the book sale, so we’re going to the old Value Village location at 444 Seymour Street.”
“I’ve got some of the archives from the storage from Westsyde in my car still, trying to figure out where I’m taking them. Not to my house I hope.”
Humphreys admits a few days were pretty challenging, but she said she welcomed the challenge to try and find a solution.
“As they say, the show must go on,” she added.
