Tickets for the tie breaker game between the Kamloops Blazers and the Kelowna Rockets are the hottest property in town today.
There were long lines outside the Sandman Centre when tickets went on sale at 9:00 AM this morning.
“It’s always great to have the building full,” said Blazers GM Matt Bardsley. “It’s great for our players when there is energy in the building, so I’m expecting that we’ll have a really good crowd.”
“Of course the game is against Kelowna, so it’s going to be intense anyways, regardless. It’s kind of a bit of a perfect storm right now.”
Blazer forward Connor Zary was named WHL Player of the Week for his heroics with nine points in four games., five goals and four assists.
He scored the tying goal on Friday, in a 5-4 overtime loss to Prince George, before scoring the game winner against the Cougars, shorthanded, on Saturday, a 4-2 Blazers win.
“Coming back from seven points back in a week isn’t something you see every day,” Zary added. “You can definitely sense the support from the fans, it’s great.”
“Tuesday should be even crazier.”
In 10 meetings between the two B.C. Interior rivals, the Blazers finished with a 6-3-1-0 record.
Puck drop for the 11th meeting is at 7:00 PM.
You can hear it live on Radio NL with the Kamloops Insurance Pre-game show at 6:30 PM.
